Soaring into a new year

Posted

On Friday, Nov. 3, The students of Webster Elementary gathered for their first quarter, Soaring Bluejays Assembly.

Each quarter, an assembly is held to honor students chosen by teachers who demonstrate academic excellence or leadership skills. Twenty-nine students were given a red carpet walk with awards, cheer from the assembly, a certificate, and 3D-printed dog tags.

Students selected as Soaring Jays were not the only ones to receive an award during the assembly. This year also included Soaring Jays Tickets in which names of 10 other students were drawn, and the winners would receive a prize. In addition, one class for each grade received a trophy for best attendance. The winner for best attendance in 2nd grade with 96.18 percent was Courtney Kelsay's class.

The winner for best attendance in 3rd grade with 98 percent was Gretchen Crawford's class.

All first quarter honorees will be featured in the Nov. 22 edition of the Marshfield Mail. Pick up a copy next week as we celebrate the future leaders from Webster Elementary.
